ILE Spatial Concepts Research

Spatial Concepts is about intentionally using the learning spaces in your environment to activate specific learning. This might be identifying a group activity that works best when students are at a stand up table. This encourages discussion, decision making and collaboration. For individual work students may be offered the opportunity to work in a quieter space using soft furnishings and headphones. Spatial awareness is not only a consideration for students to improve outcomes but is vitally important for students with learning needs.

Spatial Awareness and how it relates to the Teaching and Learning process is a developing area in Teacher Professional Learning.
