Community Consultation

As a Principal or Leadership Team within a school you are the Pedagogical Leaders within your community. It is you who sets the tone and expectations of teaching practice, learning philosophy and Professional Learning of your teachers. These decisions are always based on an evaluation of the variables that contribute to improving the education of the children in your care.

How does a Leadership Team successful implement a change process in order to transition a whole school community to innovative pedagogies and the subsequent innovative learning environments that may develop from these changes.

This change management process needs to take into consideration the needs of your whole community and where they are at in their understanding of innovative pedagogies. This move to contemporary pedagogies can be one of angst if the changes, reasons behind them and the research supporting them is not communicated to the whole school community. School communities include;

  • Students
  • Parents
  • Teachers
  • Whole School Staff

SCEC provides workshops for School Leaders to map out a Whole School Community move to Innovative Pedagogies and/or Innovative Learning Environments. This change process ensures that you invite your community along with you in this conversation and that everyone feels as though they have a real voice in the decisions being made.

Workshop Overview

This workshop is designed to allow schools to;

  • provide real agency to each identified sector of the school community
